Tellen.Convert G: Gusseting

The side-gusseting process adapts flat-laid tubular film to different packaging requirements through precise folding.
Internal tools with folding wedges form the gussets and determine both the bag width and the depth of the gussets. The gussets are secured in the take-off system and then wound up.

Precise gusseting through reversing:
Before Gusseting begins, the reversing mechanism ensures that the original folds of the flattened tubular film are restored to outward bends. This preserves the mechanical strength of the film.

The flat tubular film is drawn into the reversing unit and precisely aligned using the film edges.

The film is positioned at an angle in the reversing unit.

This preserves the outer edges during gusseting and maintains the direction of the folds – for a clean, precise, and visually high-quality pleated pattern.
